Vava'u in the Kingdom of Tonga has some of the best Sport fishing and Big Game fishing in the South Pacific.

It has a reputation as the premium Sport fishing and Big Game fishing destination in the South Pacific. The waters of Vava'u Tonga are over 1000 meters deep less than a mile of shore.

Within a 30 to 40 minute cruise from Hakula Lodge through the Vava'u Harbour you will be in monster Marlin and Yellowfin territory.

You can leave early and travel to a seamount and work the schools of Yellowfin and Skipjack. After which we will troll home with the likelihood of picking up billfish and Mahimahi or fish the 3 new FAD's just off shore for billfish and Mahimahi.

Fish Aggregating Device (FAD)

In Vava'u there are now three (3) new FAD's which are situated approximately six miles offshore in 1000/1200 metres of water. The distance between varies depending on current flow and wind. The distance between the southernmost FAD and the northern FAD is approximately 18/20 miles.
