Kimberley Coastal Camp has earned its reputation as the best land-based destination to witness what the Kimberley Coast has to offer.

Even by Kimberley standards, this is a remote location with access being limited to either float plane or helicopter. It’s amazing to think that accommodation of this quality is available on a corner of the Admiralty Gulf.

The lodge is situated right on the waterfront with all rooms providing spectacular views, ensuite bathrooms, quality finishes and daily servicing.

Owner operators, Tub and Jules are onsite and their love affair with this part of the country is on display for all guests to witness.

Tub is the head guide who knows the area better than anyone and has imparted his knowledge on all the other guides. Jules is head of catering, a sensational chef in her own right and happy to share some of her secrets with a class in the kitchen.

The fleet of custom-built boats are used to transport you to each of your daily activities. You can plan your day ahead with your guide to make sure you enjoy the activities you are most excited about.

Examples of a day at Kimberley Coastal Camp include:

  • Enjoy a morning fishing expedition and have your guide cook your catch for you over coals on a deserted boab fringed beach washed down by your choice of beverage. On your way back to the lodge, gather huge oysters or drop a pot or two to see if you can entice succulent mud crabs which will be served as part of your evening meal.
  • Set off on a stunning bushwalk which lead you to some of the best examples of sacred Bradshaw and Wandjina indigenous rock art which are thousands of years old.
  • Experience a wildlife tour which includes spotting sizeable saltwater crocodiles. Enjoy fantastic birdwatching at the same time where you’re likely to spot tiny bee-eaters through to massive birds of prey.
  • Start and/or finish your day capitalising on low light conditions photographers dream about. The landscape and surrounding water literally light up and deliver unique photo opportunities
  • Organise a morning heli charter so you can visit spectacular waterfalls, swimming holes and remote gorges then join an afternoon seafood cooking class hosted by Jules
