We offer the ultimate mothership options that cover the vast majority of the Kimberley Coast from Broome to Wyndam over 14 days.

Or you can do an 8 day condensed version covering Broome to Mitchell Plateau or Mitchell Plateau to Wyndam.

Kimberley Quest and True North are the best operators in the region and deliver a level of intimacy that can’t be experienced on the larger liners that offer a Kimberley Cruise.

Visiting the Kimberley is a must do trip and whilst we can organise fishing only trips, there’s so much more to experience including several sites of ancient Bradshaw and Wandjina rock art, spectacular waterfalls and swimming holes, the famous horizontal falls, Montgomery Reef and some of the most spectacular coast anywhere in the world.

There are a range of activities each morning and afternoon which nearly always includes the chance to wet a line, but there’s a couple of must do destinations where a few hours on the water need to be sacrificed as they are so spectacular.

Our options provide the best accommodation, chefs hat quality food, the best activities, extremely knowledgeable guides for fishing and everything else the Kimberley has to offer.

The mothership predominantly changes locations at night and an array of tenders or the onboard helicopter explore the less easy to access highlights.

Trips run from late February through to October each year with the fishing only trips being confined to October during the build up to the wet season when big female barramundi are preparing to breed and congregate in numbers.

Having said that, barra are available year-round and hold up on rock bars waiting to ambush any unsuspecting prey that floats past. Other target species in the rivers and creeks include mangrove jack, threadfin salmon and fingermark.

The bluewater fishing is spectacular with big giant trevally, schools of metre plus queenfish, huge Spanish mackeral and coral trout all a regular experience.

Then there’s the shellfish and crustaceans, huge rock oysters which are flushed by the enormous tides of up to 8 metres and mud crabs which are gathered by strategically dropping pots in the rivers and creeks.

The Kimberley is ideal for a non-fishing partner with so many other exciting activities for them to enjoy whilst you’re following your piscatorial pursuits.

If you’re doing the Broome to Mitchell Plateau leg or visa versa we’ll have the charter flights lined up in and out of Broome and if you start or finish at Wyndam it’ll be Kununura which links with Darwin.

Maximum number of guests is 16 (Kimberley Quest) or 31 (True North). Fishing only trips can cater for 12 guests.
