The Fishing
There are numerous coastal creeks and estuaries that provide excellent barramundi fishing during the prime times of the run-off and build-up when the lodge is available to fishing focused clients.
There are also excellent numbers of sizeable mangrove jack mixed in amongst the barra. Other by-catch is likely to include golden snapper, estuary cod and small trevally and queenfish.
They have introduced boarding platforms to some of the best barra destinations to make sure they can be accessed at low tide when the barra fishing can be at its best.
The boats will have accessed these areas on high tides to make sure you can fish them at a time they would otherwise be inaccessible.
Once you head offshore there is spectacular pelagic fishing for huge queenfish, Spanish mackerel, giant trevally, cobia, giant herring and a chance at a sailfish.
The numerous reefs hold large golden snapper, black jewfish, coral trout and some of the best eating species you could possibly present to the chef.
The variety of fishing options available and knowledge of the guides ensure you can be at the right place at the right time to get the best from all fishing options.
The Guides
Nothing they love more than seeing the smiles on their clients faces when they’ve guided them to personal bests.
They know where and when to hunt barra and jacks in the creeks and coastal outcrops and have you on the reefs to target some of the best table fish or capitalise on the currents to chase pelagics.
The Boats
The lodge boasts a flotilla that includes vessels of 3 x 7.6 metre Eliminator Sport Fishers which are ideal for 4 anglers; 6.1 metre OceanMaster Rip Tide which is ideal for 3 anglers but handles 4 and a 6.1 metre Sportfisher that has the same capacity.
The Lodge
Seven Spirit Bay is a true luxury wilderness lodge.
It is situated on the western side of Port Essington which is one of the most spectacular parts of the Cobourg Peninsula.
In 2016 the existing lodge underwent a $3.5m refurbishment followed by a further $3.5m investment to deliver extra rooms in 2019.
The main lodge provides waterfront views and overlooks the idyllic waters of Coral Bay.
The individual freestanding rooms are generous in size, fully air-conditioned, provide king bedding with the finest linen, beautiful fit-out and furnishings, ensuite bathrooms with double vanities and a large deck with views of Port Essington and Coral Bay.
There are 24 rooms in total but it is recommended pure fishing groups are kept to 18. These means some of the VIP’s can expect their own rooms
The Food
The executive chef will create seafood mastery with the fresh produce you deliver each day and local herbs and spices.
Meals will range from simple fish and chips, sophisticated steamed barramundi dishes to chilli mud crab. You are guaranteed a culinary experience.
The Service
Service is highly attentive. There will be a staff member available to meet your needs anytime.
The rooms are serviced daily and there is a complimentary laundry service where items are collected in the morning and back in your room before you return to the lodge each day.
