Tavenui is one of the jewels of the South Pacific. Readers Digest did an article in December 2022 rating the world’s most beautiful islands. They narrowed the list down to 18 islands where Taveuni not only made the list but ranked No1.

Fijians are renowned as being some of the friendliest people on the planet and your hosts at Taveuni live up to this reputation.

The resort is intimate with three separate 2-bedroom freestanding villas set on 4 acres of lush gardens leading to beautiful white sandy beach. Each villa has sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, lounge areas, plunge pool, flat screen TV and a kitchenette.

Getting there is easy, morning flights from Brisbane and Sydney land at Nadi in time to transfer to the afternoon Fiji Link flight to Taveuni. Same on the way home. You’ll be back in Nadi in time to get your return international flight.

Fantastic snorkelling is available at the resort which could keep you entertained for hours or you can take a boat to head further afield.

Breakfast is included in the tariff and dinner is provided at the resort each night at an extra cost. Lunch is had on the boat each day and can be organised by the kitchen staff for a small cost.

You can look forward to sportfishing at its best.

  • Cast poppers and stick baits at huge Giant Trevally, Yellowfin Tuna and Spanish Mackerel
  • Jigging for Dogtooth Tuna and other “Brand X” species
  • Troll for Blue & Black Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Spanish Mackerel and Yellowfin Tuna
  • Fish the reefs for grouper and various species of emperor

There is a fleet of 3 boats ranging from 23ft to 33ft which can cater for 2 to 4 anglers each. All boats are equipped with quality fish finding electronics to help you locate your target specie. The local knowledge of the guides and birds smashing baitfish from above are going to put you on to the spots where you’ll get your arms stretched. It’s only 5 minutes from the lodge until you reach the fishing grounds and there is plenty of options in every direction. Don’t expect to come across other boats whilst you are out there, this is remote sportfishing at its best. Daily charters can range from 4 to 8 hours but we recommend the longer option as you cover more ground and reach the more remote reefs and sea mounts. For those who just can’t get enough there are also 2 fishing kayaks which can be hired at the resort and you can paddle to some of the nearby reefs and flick or troll lures.

Included in the cost:

  • 8 hours fully guided fishing each day
  • Accommodation
  • Quality Boats with all the required safety equipment and fish finding electronics
  • Fishing equipment (on a replace if lost or broken basis)
  • Daily breakfast
  • All snorkelling equipment
  • Cultural night with the locals
  • Transfers from the airport to the resort return

Excluded:

  • International and domestic flights
  • Meals except for breakfast
  • Drinks
  • Fishing kayak hire
  • Island tour, bird watching tour, snorkelling tour

Kimberley Coastal Camp (Eco Tour)

Even by Kimberley standards, this is a remote location with access being limited to either float plane or helicopter. It’s amazing to think that accommodation of this quality is available on a corner of the Admiralty Gulf.
