The Torres Strait occupies the waters from the northern most tip of Australia leading towards Papua Niugini where the Arafura Sea meets the Coral Sea.

This area spans 48,000 square kilometres with 274 islands of which only 18 are inhabited. Only a few get permission to access these islands and surrounding waters unless they have agreement with the traditional owners which our charters deliver.

This is a culturally diverse area influenced by both Indigenous and Melanesian people who have a strong connection with both land and sea.

These remote islands are blessed with coral reefs, deserted beaches and pockets of rainforest which are close to untouched.

Being aboard a quality mothership delivers the flexibility of being mobile ensuring you’ll get the best fishing possible and see everything the region has to offer. Weather is rarely a problem on these charters as there are always suitable moorings and protected waters to tangle with a huge variety of target species.

The hard-line causes fast moving current lines that create bait infested shoals throughout the inner reefs which are the happy hunting grounds for big Giant Trevally and Spanish Mackerel during most stages of the tide. There’s a huge range of other species to target including coral trout, red emperor, longnose emperor, queenfish, red bass, golden trevally and plenty more.

This trip is also ideal for fly fishing enthusiasts. Especially those keen to target permit and blue bastards.

At the end of each day, you get to enjoy the comfort of your 25-metre mothership which provides generous indoor and outdoor lounge and dining areas, air-conditioned cabins, ample toilets and showers. It’s been designed to be spacious and stable.

Starlink ensures you can stay in touch with the rest of the world no matter which remote location you are in. The chef is excellent and will provide a variety of canapes each evening followed by a 3-course dinner. Cooked breakfasts are served at 7 am each morning and lunch is normally packed and enjoyed whilst you are out fishing.

The fishing fleet include 1 x 32ft and 2 x 23ft purpose built centre console sportfishing craft, ideal to handle 3 anglers and a guide each. They are equipped with the latest fish finding technology and safety equipment. If you don’t have suitable rod and reel combinations these can be either rented or purchased on board. A typical day’s fishing is from 7.30am to 4.30pm.
